Jimi Hendrix - RARITIES SONG BIOS 1. "IZABELLA" - is the only studio recording released by the BAND OF GYPSYS. The Group was signed to Capitol, so when the single was issued on Reprise, Capitol sued, and the record was immediately withdrawn from the market. 2. "STEPPING STONE" - recorded by THE BAND OF GYPSYS in mid 1969, is the B side to Izabella. It's an extended version of the one they released on the album. It contains entirely different guitar parts, and a great surprise ending. 3. "ANGEL" - is an outstanding home demo recording from the Cry Of Love LP. Recorded in 1968 ,this version features Jimi on solo guitar and vocals. 4. "DAY TRIPPER" - was recorded live in late 1967 for a radio broadcast at the BBC studios. This track also features John Lennon on backgraound vocals. 5. "LITTLE DRUMMER BOY/SILENT NIGHT" - (Medley) was recorded by THE BAND OF GYPSYS during a break in their rehersal sessions for their upcoming 1969 New Years Eve concerts. The tracks were originally issued as a promo single in the early 70's .They're released here for the first time on CD. 6. "AULD LANG SYNE" - is the B side of the Jimi Hendrix Christmas record. 7. "51ST ANNIVERSARY" - is the unreleased B side from his first single in 1967. 8. "STARS THAT PLAY WITH LAUGHING SAMA DICE" - is a psychdelic masterpiece. The initials stood for S-T-P with L-S-D, and was never released in the U.S. 9. "FIRE" - was recorded live February 18 1969 at the final performance of The Jimi Hendrix Experience at The Royal Albert Hall in London. The group disbanded shortly after the concert. 10. "GLORIA" - written by Van Morrison , was taped during jam sessions in 1967. 11. "MY DIARY" - by Rosa Lee Brooks, was the first record to ever feature Jimi Hnedrix.Written by Arthur Lee , who later formed the 60's group Love, the single was recorded in Los Angeles in 1963 when Hendrix was 19 years old. 12. "UTEE" - is the B side of My Diary . The record was released by Revis records in LA, and features the first Hendrix guitar solo ever recorded. 13. "HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO ELECTRIC LADYLAND" - is an unreleased studio outtake from Electric Ladyland. This version features just Hendrix on solo guitar. 14. "COME ON" - (PART 1) - is an unreleased outtake from Electric Ladyland rehersal sessions. It was recorded live in the studio in mid august 1968. 15. "ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER" - written by Bob Dylan, was recorded live during The Isle Of Wight Festival in England, on August 30 ,1970. The show was Jimi's Last major concert appearance. He passed away on September 18, less than three weeks after his performance at the festival. 16. "DRIFTERS ESCAPE" - written by Bob Dylan , was recorded in the studio in Spring 1969 , with Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox and remains unreleased. 17. "SGT. PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND" - was recorded live in late 1970. 18. "SUNSHINE OF YOUR LOVE" - was recorded after Cream broke up. While appearing live on national TV, Jimi stopped playing one of his own tunes and said, "We're gonna stop playing this rubbish, and dedicate a song to the Cream". 19. "COME DOWN HARD ON ME BABY" - features Mitch Mitchell on drums and Billy Cox on bass. It's a great bluesy rocker recorded in 1970 and was never released. 20. "BLUE SUEDE SHOES" - was recorded live during the Band Of Gypsys rehersal sessions. This rare outtake includes Jimi explaining the tune to the band. 21.
