Hi All, This is the official RNS ripper pack, it is intended ONLY for RNS people.... anyways for experienced users, this should be easy..for people who just started ripping this will be a little difficult at first but they should ease into it...anyways let's get down to business: First of all make SURE you unzip this with the -d option, preferably with winzip as some programs have long filenames...anyways here is a brief description of the utilities included here: rippers: audiogr.zip Audio Grabber, one of the better rippers out there, can rip to wav and also to mp3 using the codec, you can also set audiogr to encode to mp3 using one of the mp3dos programs included here, just setup a batch file cdda203.zip The FULL version of CD-DA Extractor 2.0.3 , this is imho the BEST ripper out there, does a great job of ripping tracks and ccan encode to mp3 using the windows internal codec , use %a-%t-%i-%n-RNS for filename (when you choose the tracks and copy selected tracks) also supports cddb which is awesome.. cddb is the cd database they keep records of all the cds ever made w/ track listings etc etc...good shit and saves a load of time cdcopy.zip Version 4.008 of cdcopy, full version....nice ripper, doesn't work that well for me personally but it is PACKED with options, I've included default.opt which is all the RNS options just load it up at startup File, Load options etc ...ez ...and you are all set...this one uses ANY type of mp3 encoder u want check it out has loads of options, great stuff but like I said, unless I use my cd-r this thing doesn't rip right for me encoders: aasetup.exe Audioactive Production Studio, the latest and greatest windows mp3-encoding program from Fraunhoffer IIS This is supposed to be one of the fastest, clearest mp3 encoders, I tried it and it works great, crisper output than MP3 Producer Pro and a little bit faster if you set it on high priority l3codecx.exe The latest Windows codec for MP3 compression, must have :) mp3dos.zip A compilation of l3enc,l3dec and mp3enc.exe all dos based mp3 encoders, great stuff but unless u run NT or dos they will be too slow for you....the txt instructions are also included prodps.zip MP3 Producer Pro 2.1 , this one needs no introduction :) Just FYI, I encoded a 3 mins 20 secs song using MP3 Prod pro 2.1, it took 5:30 with MP3 Prod and with aa studio on high priority it took 5:25 , I have a AMD K6 200 oced to 210 mhz ...quite fast ...but as you can see not much difference in time, but the aa studio sounds better to me.. misc: id3edit.zip A generic ID3 tagger, cdda, cdcopy, and even AG auto tag if you fil out the info properly..so not much use but what the hell This ripper pack was done by Enforcer of RNS, if you need more help or have questions or want to get updates or whatever get a hold of me on our channels or on the mailing list Thanks to Trick and Al Capone for all their hard work and effort to keep RNS #1 Also, there is no substition to this rule of mp3 encoding : ALWAYS ALWAYS hear your own rips on mp3 to make sure they are ok... there is no 100% reliable way of ripping everything properly..so ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR RIPS ppl, RNS stands for quality...take pride in your rips Additional Notes: The mp3enc/l3enc/l3dec should be registered as I just took them off my hdd but just in case they aren't here is the reg info: mp3enc: MPEG Layer-3 Encoder v3.00: Name: B Walker s/n: [redacted] l3enc: L3encode e decode DOS v1.7: s/n: [redacted] L3ENC: s/n: [redacted] L3ENC 2.xx: s/n: [redacted]
